The Dutch dairy company, FrieslandCampina, invests in capacity expansion and infrastructure modernisation in Mátészalka. The project related to the production of high value-added desserts and fermented milk products is to be realised from more than EUR 14 million.
The Dutch FrieslandCampina is the world's largest cooperative-owned dairy company and one of the five largest dairy companies worldwide. FrieslandCampina Hungária holds a leading position in the Hungarian dairy market with its branded, high value-added milk products. The iconic "Túró Rudi" is marketed under the "Pöttyös" brand, whereas the Milli, Oké, Frico, Debic, Landliebe and Completa product ranges are also significant.
The plant in Mátészalka was nearing its maximum production capacity, therefore, with the new investments, the company intends to increase it, thus meeting the increased domestic and international demand for the products.
The investment will result in an increase in production capacity of around 25%, while retaining existing jobs and substantially modernising technology. To achieve this, new production and packaging machines, cooking equipment and storage capacities will be provided. Altogether, production and storage areas will also be extended over the next 4 years.
