Nestlé’s Latest Investment Added Substantial Capacities To Pet Food Plant

Nestlé Hungária Kft.’s capacity extension investment worth HUF 90 billion was celebrated in Bük which marked the latest development of the Swiss company’s Hungarian operation. The project will create 280 new jobs.
Nestlé’s presence in Hungary comprises of its Budapest HQ and three plants in Szerencs, Diósgyőr and Bük. The latter site called Purina has evolved into a regional pet food production hub, and it celebrates its 25th business anniversary this year.
The company now inaugurated its latest development: two new plant units in value of HUF 90 billion that are bound to increase the annual manufacturing capacity by nearly 100,000 tons. Last year production exceeded 200,000 tons out of which 90% was exported. Thanks to the project 100 new robots will also be installed.
The Purina site employs nearly 1,500 staff, and headcount went up by 280 as a result of the investment.
Nestlé is known for its continuous reinvestments in Hungary: it has spent on Purina alone HUF 268 billion since 2010, including the investment in question.
