Drenik will not only expand its production volume and product portfolio by its latest development project but it will also double its employee headcount in its Szolnok plant. As a result of the recently launched investment worth EUR 26 million, in the Hungarian plant of the Serbian paper-making company finished household paper products will also roll off the manufacturing lines, in addition to enhanced basic paper capacity.
Thanks to its work dating back to two decades, the Drenik Group has developed into a major player in hygienic basic paper and finished product manufacturing by now in South-eastern and Central Europe. Drenik ND employs more than 500 employees altogether and its annual turnover approximates to EUR 100 million.
Drenik Hungary has been operating in Szolnok for three years, where primarily basic paper is produced for the manufacturing of various household papers – among others, paper handkerchiefs, hand towels, toilet papers and kitchen rolls – in a monthly quantity of about 1800 tons, by employing more than 90 people. Basic paper manufactured here is mainly used by Drenik in its own plants, but it also sells this product to various Hungarian and foreign paper mills.
In the framework of the development project in Szolnok, the existing manufacturing hall will be reconstructed in order to increase the basic paper manufacturing volume and another factory unit of more than 4,000 sqm will also be built for the manufacturing of the "Perfex" finished product. In addition, a warehouse with a surface of nearly 20,000 sqm will also be established.
In 2018 the production value of the paper industry exceeded – after an increase of more than 10% – HUF 520 billion in our country. An even more marked change can be experienced in the field of employment: In February 2019 the number of those employed in the paper industry approximated to 16,500 people, following an increase of more than 20%.
