This year’s Automotive Hungary was a great success again
2018. 10. 18.
In 2018, Automotive Hungary exhibition boasted with more exhibitors and visitors than ever. This exhibition also grew into a significant regional event in recent years. The three-day event provided an opportunity for the introduction of the most important local actors of the Hungarian automotive sector. Thus the participants could have been acquainted with the significance and results of electromobility and Industry 4.0 technologies. The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) was present not only as an exhibitor since this year also featured a supplier's forum where international companies had also been invited in addition to the Hungarian SMEs.
Covering the whole spectrum of the Hungarian automotive industry, the Automotive Hungary special exhibition organised between 17 to 19 October 2018 was attended by 255 exhibitors from 15 countries which equals to a 16% rise compared to the previous year. Increased interest was reflected in the number of visitors, too, exceeding that of the last year by 20% each day on average. Automotive Hungary presents Hungarian car manufacturers as well as their suppliers from TIER-3 to TIER-1 level, regional clusters, professional associations and the dual training opportunity offered by education institutions.
Electromobility which will characterise the near future of vehicle industry and Industry 4.0 technologies are going to be more and more important in the processes of big corporations and suppliers as well. The same direction is shown by the government's objective to have the Hungarian automotive industry lead the technological development in addition to manufacturing. It is very important that Hungarian-owned small and medium enterprises be able to produce as high added value as possible in the production and value chain, and be able to present their own intellectual products.
This year HIPA organised the B2B Supplier's Forum jointly with the Hungarian Automotive Industry Organisation (MAGE) and the National Association of Hungarian Vehicle Part Manufacturers (MAJOSZ). This event provides an opportunity for Hungarian supplier companies to present their products and services to the purchasers of OEM and TIER-1 corporations personally. The 2018 supplier's forum was a success, too, since the 16 invited purchasers and the representatives of the 31 supplier companies had 140 meetings on the whole.
Apart from the forum, the Supplier's Unit of HIPA had a stand of 90 m2 where interested people could get acquainted with the supplier's services of HIPA, receiving help in the development of their products, services and relations.
The aim of the Supplier's Unit of HIPA is to connect Hungarian SMEs into the value chain of foreign-owned OEM and integrator companies and to support the progress of companies which have already been integrated. For this purpose, HIPA operates an online supplier's database, organises free-of-charge supplier's training courses, providing professional advice and mediation for Hungarian small and medium enterprises engaged in supply. Free training courses prepared and realised together with the big corporations focus on those areas with the help of which Hungarian suppliers can be involved in product development processes of big corporations to an ever growing extent, apart from series production.
